Shyp
Transforming logistics for consumers and small businesses
Shyp started off as a consumer-focused app with a simple premise: make the hassles of shipping a thing of the past. Just snap a picture on the Shyp app and a courier would be on their way to pick up your item(s). Shyp would then package your item with made-to-fit boxes, instantly compare the lowest rates across the major carriers and even share tracking info with you or your recipient. Over time, Shyp introduced more features for small to medium-sized businesses, where help with logistics and inventory would really make a big impact and could help businesses grow seamlessly.
Event Collateral
Shyp was the premier sponsor for the West Coast Craft Fair in the summer of 2017. Artists and makers are a key target customer for Shyp. Their items are valuable, their time would be better spent on their craft and their volume isn't high enough to warrant a 3PL. To showcase how Shyp can be a valued partner to their business, we set up booths at local craft shows and targeted shoppers to demonstrate our seamless shipping process to vendors — and hopefully boost their sales. Reception was positive and more vendors realized the value Shyp can bring to their business.
Above and below are examples of collateral I developed with a communication designer to entice both the visitors and the vendors at the show.
Case Studies
Shyp makes a meaningful impact to small business owners — and the best way to show that is through real user success stories. From interviewing clients firsthand to condensing a narrative thread for each case, I took ownership of the rewarding opportunity to share how Shyp could be used in new, unexpected, real-life scenarios to transform people's lives and help businesses grow.
Performance Marketing Landing Pages
One of my earliest assignments at Shyp was to revamp or create over 30 landing pages, designed to target different business verticals through search engine marketing. Playful headlines with more direct body copy in succinct bullet points communicated the value proposition and enticed visitors to sign up for a free credit, driving acquisition.
Illustrating Abstract Concepts
Shyp struggled with communicating their pricing structure. Collaborating with a designer, we developed a reusable website module that clearly positioned the difference between two pickup options and the value proposition of unlimited items per visit.
Art Packaging
Door-to-door service, custom packaging capabilities and convenient pickup scheduling positioned Shyp to be a perfect solution for artists who wanted to get shipping out of the way and stay in the creative flow. In addition to the flyer below, I collaborated with a graphic designer to create a detailed step-by-step packaging brochure and wrote a case study on an artist who used Shyp to send her work.
Email Marketing
Shyp sent out promotional emails to drive usage and acquisition. These were often tied to seasonal themes and holidays, or simple business needs such as driving more business in a certain market. Below are three examples I wrote.
